Default Analysis your favorite campaigen

A small, maybe weird thread. Thought about it while crapping.

-Name your favorite campaign,
-Reasons? 2-3 will do.
-Pick 1 or 2 areas you love to play there
-A mission you will do once again
-A zone you would like to vanquish / again

Ill try:

-Factions
-My first campaign in guild wars, storyline beats all, love the environment
-Kaineng and Shing Jea
-Tahnnakai Temple
-Jahai Bluffs, or any other Kaineng zone.

It took a little effort in this thread, so don't delete it right away if there was such a thing before.

- Prophecies
-> First one I played
-> Thought me a lot of how the game works
-> Newb days were fun
- Perdition rock and pretty much the entire dessert
- THK
- Majesty's rest (did this 3 times already and wouldn't mind doing so again)

AN ZONE IS AN HERO.

Okay now that I got that out of the way..

Prophecies.

It was the first and the most fun I had in the game. Course that could be because it was new, by Factions and NF it kinda wore out.

Uh The Falls and Snakes Dance.

THK.

I've not really vanquished anything there I like yet.

Prophecies

I started here as well, just before factions came out. Back then pugs were made up of fairly skilled players, missions were fun, never had to use henchies, my max damage purple weps could sell for a few k and people loved my 14^50 gold storm bow and I got many compliments and offers for it (i still have it and use to this day)

Good times, good memories

The best campaign is Prophecies.

Not only does it have a really great story line, it is one of the most versatile too. It has a lot of options for play: farming, running, pre-searing, missions, quests and all this in a variety of unique settings.

My favorite area to play is in the Southern Shiverpeaks.

Desert Missions are all fun.

I haven't really gotten into vanquishing titles yet.

My fav music is in Factions
My fav Eye Candy is in EotN (although I think it's more an expansion)
My Fav areas are probably snow & ice places or the Asuran jungly bits with the dino's

I think i'm one of the few people that started out with prophs and loved nightfall more .

reason: i fell in love with the dervish class. nice selection of armour and weapons. However, "journey-wise", id have to say prophecies

if i had to vq somewhere it would definitely be vehtendi valley. i just like the night-time cool atmosphere

My favorite isn't really a campaign...but it's...Eye of the North!
-->Dungeons are just awesome!
-->Learned more about the Charr, which I love (soooooo playing one in GW2)
I just love playing there because it's so beautiful, has a good story (to damn short though ). Plus the dungeons provide you with a series of challenges that you have to adapt your team build to.

For missions, I love doing the Charr Homeland ones.

For an area I would revanq, I would say either of the Norn areas. Originally from the mountains myself it just makes me nostalgic.

Defo Prophecies for the fav, - first one and although i have cleared the others, it still remins the hang out zone.

Fave area is Tears of the haven for eye cndy, and maybe the grassy island in Abbadons mouth (bonus area)

One i wouldnt mind vanq'ing again, would have to be The reverse droks run, i had such a blast doing it.

Fave mission is Aurora Glade and THK. dont quite know why, i just always find myself helping randoms on those 2 more than others.

Clearly, Prophecies has all the other campaigns beat in my opinion:

-Proph has a large number of engaging missions which aren't too hard and are certainly very fun.
-Proph has many different environments (Jungle, desert, ascalon, shiverpeaks, volcanic, kryta) to explore. These areas are fun to explore and vanquish and many things leave place for your imagination (various temples, the UFO cave).
-Proph has a great storyline that can be completed in different orders, it doesn't hold you by the hand and guide you making it feel less linear. It also has smaller storylines integrated into the main story (e.g. Stone Summit).
-There are no silly grind titles, instead it entertains you with missions, quests (more so than the other campaigns).
-Very few of the skills were overpowered upon release (e.g. Shadow Prison, Mind Blast, Searing Flames, LoD, etc were overpowered).
-Proph has the best music, Granite Citadel <3

-Vanquishing the Jungle was fun.
-THK or any of the southern shiverpeak missions really.
-I would like to vanquish The Falls again.

The other campaigns are missing the large, expansive, map filled with various areas to explore. Sure they may have some but not nearly enough.

Factions
Nice areas, fun classes, best overall design.
The Echovald Forest and The Jade Sea
I don't care for redoing things.

Factions

-Best starting area
-AB and Aspenwood are awesome
-Best Elite missions
-Wonderful scenery, even the city that everyone hates
-Quick and elegant missions. They pose a few specific challenges, then you're done, unlike the 2-hour prophecies snorefests.
-Female character models are teh hawt.
-Alliances started in Factions

Initially Prophecies but changed to Factions now.

-Awesome concept of the final villain.

-PvE actually makes sense. Prophecies has the most boring variety of PvE enemy groups I've ever seen even at later missions - such as the Ring of Fire Islands chain. Five Wind Riders all by themselves? Wow that's some balanced partying right there. Factions jumps straight into having organized enemy groups. You really get the backline/frontline concept down when you find out your melees start charging towards enemy casters and enemy melees do the same.

-No bullshat quests. Well, alot of quests in Kaineng may be redundant but I feel it has more character (and compensation!) to it than Prophecies quests (Though I actually like Nightfall quests better). Alot of dialogs are actually humorous while Prophecies is as dried up as... something horrible...

-Good scenery. Everywhere in Factions, even in the slums, I can appreciate the nice job done with the background. ShingJea, Kaineng, Jade Seas, and Echovold Forest all look stunning. I really liked Kryta in Prophecies too but it was in there for a really short (and lame) chapter before making you jump into bullshat Maguuma Jungle. Nightfall looks rather ugly in my opinion.
